SHABBY CHIC BLUE LINEN ALBUM

Hi everyone - sorry to be missing in action for a while... I caught Covid, so it's taken a while to recover. Anyway, never mind that... here's my new shabby chic blue linen album/scrapbook/journal.

And here's a flip-through video

I've really enjoyed making this one! This is a large album 12x12 size, with a screw post fastening, which means it can have extra pages inserted.

The album is covered in a very pretty pale blue rose pattern on an off-white base On the front, the top and bottom borders are a soft rose pink pleated satin ribbon, with an overlay of burlap string and green leaf silk ribbon with small white satin ribbon roses.

The centre panel is a base of fine white cotton, with appliqued paper doilies, lace, netting, fabric doilies, buttons, applique motif, silk chiffon ribbon, fabric flowers and some slow stitching (hand embroidery) Karantha stitch in cream silk.

Front cover detail - many layers of lace, fabric flowers, buttons, net...

Inside, front and back, I've stencilled both the covers and the pockets. The pockets are the same white cotton I used on the front panel and are also stencilled. I've overlaid this with netting, the hems are machine stitched, and the extra detail embroidered by hand: French Knots, cross stitch, herringbone, Karantha (all with the same cream silk).

There is more lace, fabric doily, an applique motif, and the front pocket holds a hand-made tag. This is cream manila card, with paper doily, lace, collage, silk chiffon ribbon and more of the soft pink pleated satin ribbon.

The pages are all archival and acid-free cream card, each in a high-quality page protector. There are 10 pages (20 sides) for you to decorate, and the album has screw posts so that you can add more pages if needed.

As you imagine, this was a real labour of love!
