Christmas tree and decorations

Another DT project for Blockwallah - this one is a stamped and painted Christmas tree with paperclay ornaments. Although, as I cut out butterflies, it could be for all year round! Showing the stamp and a closeup of the painted, glittered twig Stamped gift wrap tissue paper, using gold acrylic with glitter thrown on while wet Paperclay ornaments, a twig and decoupaged tissue paper on the pot Tear up the tissue, and layer on over the pot using decoupage glue Paperclay ornaments I stamped onto paperclay first, then cut out each image twice using pasty cutters. Next step was to paint them using acrylic paint. I then rubbed over with gold paint and threw on glitter while the paint was still wet (the glitter will stick when dry). Stand up, light up tree card for Studio Light

This piece is made using just one embossing folder (with cut out die insert) from the Autumn collection by StudioLight. I've inked the inside of the embossing folder using Brilliance ink in Lightning Black, and run this through with a piece torn from a watercolour sketch pad. The folder then embossed in a letterpress style, with the die insert cutting out the leaves. I placed this on top of my torn cardboard packaging, pierced the leaves to give me an idea of placement, and cut out sections with a craft knife. Next, I mounted the tree piece on a thin card frame on top of the torn cardboard. I mounted the whole lot on some foamcore board (I cut an aperture in the back) then placed my LED lights to show through). I then placed the left-over piece of foamcore back over the aperture, taping down with brown gummed paper tape (which is incredibly strong). I made a holster for the battery pack by folding card around it to shape it, then glued this to the back of the foamcore...

Stamping gift boxes

I bought some ready-made gift boxes made of Kraft card - I think they're meant for takeaways. Anyway, they came flat and folded up into shape very easily. I bought mine in the UK from Home Bargains, so I'm sure they'll be in dollar stores, Amazon etc. Two boxes, one stamped in brown, one in red I stamped the box, sari ribbon and tag in brown Closeup One block, gold metallic ribbon layered over stamped sari ribbon, plus tag and box Closeup showing the tag Acrylic paint, two blocks used to stamp the first box and one block for the second - so simple! Blocks are from Blockwallah .
