Here's a lovely little short by Michel Dudok de Wit - bittersweet, very touching. I just had to share.



Turn up the sound, grab a cup of coffee and a box of tissues, then sit back and enjoy.

Not only beautifully told, but also beautifully illustrated. Passing time is all too fleeting...

    Oh Susie!
    I really needed a box of tissues. First he went away, then she waited and waited, came back in so many ages and times. Went to the boat, and ofcourse when she saw her Father, I knew she had passed as she became young again.

    What a wonderful job they did of illustrating and music. It was beautiful. I especially loved the little bicycle bells ringing.

    I thought he had left her and t=was the end of it. I feel sorry for the little girl. Then again, it just made me think to not ever forget how a little girl feels for her Papa. Of course he wouldn't! Oh Susie when there was no water anymore . .. when I saw the boat . . . and them being reunited again.. . The sweetest, just the sweetest story ever. And I love that it is being told like this. SImple, simply illustrated but the story runs deep.

    This was the most amazing little film - everything, the people, the music, the story, the depiction of the seasons and time....just so beautiful despite the sadness. I'm in awe of what film can bring to life - the creativity of artists never ceases to amaze. Thanks for sharing this with us Susie.
